After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law, Judge Griffith served as Legal Counsel to the United States Senate, providing nonpartisan legal advice during President Bill Clinton's impeachment trial. He briefly returned to private practice before becoming General Counsel of Brigham Young University, his alma mater. After receiving both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Oklahoma, Ms. Mitchell served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives for 8 years before entering private practice. She has served as legal counsel to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee, the National Rifle Association, and a number of U.S. Senators. Joining Ms. Mitchell for this discussion will be David Skeel, the Penn Law Samuel Arsht Professor of Corporate Law. After graduating from Notre Dame Law School, Judge Barrett clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia and Judge Laurence Silberman on the D.C. Circuit. After a stint in private practice, Judge Barrett was a law professor at Notre Dame from 2002 to 2017. She was nominated by President Donald Trump, and confirmed by the Senate, as a judge on the Seventh Circuit in 2017. Judge Barrett was also a finalist to be appointed to the Supreme Court to replace Justice Kennedy in 2018, and she is widely considered to be a potential appointee to the Supreme Court in the future. with Judge Stephen F.
