After graduating from Yale Law, Professor Garnett clerked for Chief Judge Richard Arnold on the Eighth Circuit and Chief Justice William Rehnquist on the Supreme Court. He focuses his teaching on the freedoms of speech, association, and religion and constitutional law more generally. A graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Mr. Burrus is the editor-in-chief of the Cato Supreme Court Review. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Huffington Post, and others, and he frequently appears on major media outlets. Joining Mr. Burrus for this discussion will be Kermit Roosevelt, a Penn Law Professor. Wishbone, with a kosher/vegetarian option, will be served.
12:00 pm - September 4, 2019 - Tannenbaum 145 On Wednesday, September 4, in T145 at noon, please join the Federalist Society in welcoming Judge Stephanos Bibas of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. After graduating from Yale Law School, Judge Bibas clerked for Judge Patrick Higginbotham on the Fifth Circuit and Justice Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court. Before being nominated to the Third Circuit, Judge Bibas was a federal prosecutor, a professor at Penn Law, and a leading criminal procedure scholar. Judge Bibas will be providing an introduction to the Federalist Society, offering a unique insight into the purpose and goals of the national organization. Chick-fil-A, along with a Kosher option, will be served.
