November 8, 2018 - 12:00 pm On Thursday, November 8, at noon, please join the Federalist Society in welcoming Professor Michael Stokes Paulsen for a debate on the role of stare decisis in Supreme Court jurisprudence. A graduate of Yale Law School, Professor Paulsen argues that the doctrine of stare decisis fails to support judicial efficiency, stability, or credibility—the very values the doctrine is meant to protect. Professor Paulsen ultimately argues that “the doctrine may be repudiated, consistently with the doctrine.” Joining Professor Paulsen for this debate will be Professor Bridget Fahey, a Sharswood Fellow at Penn Law.
