Justice Cardozo said, freedom of expression is “the indispensable condition, of nearly every other form of freedom.” As we seek “justice for all,” join the Federalist Society and the American Constitution Society in discussing how vital the First Amendment is to achieving the freedoms pursued by social justice initiatives. Panelists include Joe Cohn (Legislative & Policy Director; FIRE), Catherine Sevcenko (Director of Legal Strategy; Equal Justice Under Law), Shelby Emmett (Director of Free Speech; American Legislative Exchange) and others to be announced who will discuss the First Amendment's intersection with social justice. The event will be in Gittis 214, with lunch for those who RSVP.

This program has been approved for 1.0 substantive CLE credits for Pennsylvania lawyers. CLE credit may be available in other jurisdictions as well. Attendees seeking CLE credit should bring separate payment in the amount of $40.00 ($10.00 public interest/non-profit attorneys) cash or check made payable to The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania.
